About the role

TK Health is seeking an experienced Medical Director (MD or DO) to provide clinical leadership and oversight for correctional healthcare operations in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys mentoring clinical teams, influencing patient care, and supporting quality healthcare initiatives while serving an underserved patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for correctional healthcare operations
• Deliver direct patient care as needed
• Supervise and support advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs)
• Review and approve medications and complex treatment plans
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practices
• Mentor providers and assist with complex clinical decision-making
• Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Oklahoma MD or DO license
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
• Ability to pass a background check

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of clinical experience (preferred)
• Prior physician leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
• Correctional healthcare experience (preferred)
