Medical Director

About the role

This position offers a unique blend of leadership and clinical responsibilities, with approximately 50% of time dedicated to serving as Medical Director and 50% dedicated to clinical practice. We know that hospital leadership is pivotal to our success. We leverage a Dyad Leadership Model in which the Medical Director (MD) partners closely with the Hospital Director (HD) to lead the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local medical leader, overseeing all specialty and emergency doctors while fostering a culture that supports engaged and empowered caregivers who embody MedVet's core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion.
• Partner with the Hospital Director to evaluate, plan, and implement best-in-class healthcare delivery in support of our mission: Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets.

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in emergency and/or specialty medicine.
• Board certification in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine (ECCM), Anesthesia, or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Experience leading a team of veterinarians and staff.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
