Responsibilities
- Policies Development: Directs the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
- Administrative: Reviews credentials, appoints new physicians to the in-house Intensivist Panel, and develops daily coverage schedules.
- Clinical Care: Oversees the units, assists with patient care, and deals with patient care problems.
- Quality Enhancement: Participates in quality improvement processes, reviews avoidable day reports, and ensures timely consultations.
- Educational: Participates in and facilitates educational programs for staff and other allied health professionals.
- Research: Oversees and coordinates research projects within the program.
Qualifications
- Doctorate M.D. or D.O
- 3 years of related experience and/or acute care experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Unsupervised privileges at current or previous institution
