About the Role
The Medical Director provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. This position partners closely with clinical, quality, and operational leaders to improve workflows, support regulatory compliance, enhance patient outcomes, and ensure providers are supported in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to medical providers.
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, evidence-based practices, and organizational protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support provider development.
- Provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive, chronic, and acute care.
- Partner with quality teams to monitor clinical outcomes and identify gaps in care.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient safety, quality of care, and clinical performance.
- Ensure compliance with HRSA, FQHC, federal, state, and regulatory standards.
- Support audit readiness and accreditation processes.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement clinical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Partner with operations teams to improve workflows, scheduling, and patient access.
- Build relationships with hospitals, community organizations, and external partners.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of medical providers.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and high-quality care.
Requirements
We are looking for a physician leader who combines strong clinical judgment with a collaborative leadership style. The ideal candidate is committed to patient-centered care, provider development, quality improvement, and improving access for diverse and underserved communities.
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
- Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license or ability to obtain prior to employment
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Ability to analyze clinical data and performance metrics
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center, community health center, or similar setting
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and quality improvement initiatives
- Proficiency in electronic health records, preferably Epic
