Medical Director (Appeals)

For our client, we are seeking a Medical Director (Appeals) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide medical leadership for appeal reviews, helping ensure clinical determinations are grounded in evidence-based practice and aligned with applicable guidelines. The position will partner closely with provider communities and internal stakeholders to support consistent policy implementation and effective case resolution. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, analytical depth, and the ability to translate complex medical information into clear recommendations. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $191,500 – $355,600 annually Responsibilities Perform medical reviews for assigned policies and programs Interact with provider communities regarding policy implementation Assess and analyze medical cases for compliance with guidelines Develop recommendations based on clinical data and evidence-based practices Collaborate with internal teams to enhance policy effectiveness Maintain up-to-date knowledge in relevant medical specialties Qualifications M.D. or D.O. with active and unrestricted medical license in the U.S. Current Board Certification from an approved specialty board 5 years of clinical experience Strong analytical and communication skills Strategic thinking capability Proficient in Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes for electronic documentation Benefits Comprehensive health and wellness benefits 401(k) savings and pension plan Paid time off and parental leave Disability and supplemental life insurance Employee assistance program Tuition reimbursement and paid holidays Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
