About the role

Medical Driver – Tacoma, WA. MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with hospitals, physician offices, and laboratories to transport a wide range of medical supplies, specimens, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x‑rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company‑owned vehicle.
• Load and unload the vehicle using appropriate equipment.
• Operate a hand‑held scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Observe operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant industry/driving experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be at least 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Excellent driving history.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screens.
• Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination (depending on location and local mandates).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review.

$20.00 – $21.70 per hour
