Medical Consultant
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Medical Consultant to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide medical expertise to support claims decision-making through clear opinions, functional assessment, and forensic analysis of medical information. The Medical Consultant will partner closely with other consultants and healthcare providers to ensure thorough evaluations, while helping the team manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and urgency. This position also calls for the ability to explain complex medical concepts in an accessible way and contribute to team success through collaboration and mentorship.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Responsibilities
- Provide clear medical opinions and forensic analysis for claims
- Collaborate with fellow consultants for comprehensive assessments
- Assess functional capacity based on medical data
- Educate peers on medical knowledge in an accessible manner
- Contact healthcare providers to gather claimant information
- Refer cases for second opinions as needed
- Manage high volumes of work with efficiency and urgency
- Contribute to team success alongside individual responsibilities
Qualifications
- MD, DO, PhD, or PsyD required
- Active, unrestricted US medical license
- Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Family Practice
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in specialty

Pay
Compensation: $133,500 – $274,100 annually
