About the Role
Reviews a patient’s medical records after a visit or procedure to translate information into appropriate evaluation and management, diagnostic, and procedural codes that insurers use to process claims for the work performed by the provider.
Responsibilities
- Translate medical records into appropriate evaluation and management, diagnostic, and procedural codes for insurance claims processing.
Requirements
- Must be a certified coder; CPC-A, CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or appropriate AAPC specialty certifications are acceptable at time of hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Strong coding expertise with solid knowledge of medical terminology, regulations, and policies.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate coding and billing.
Skills
- Effective communicator and team player with active listening, conflict management, and the ability to stay composed and collaborative in fast-paced environments.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and handle evolving responsibilities.
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
