Medical Billing Specialist - Taylorsville - Full-Time

Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a Medical Billing Specialist at our Taylorsville, UT headquarters. This is a full-time position in our Revenue Cycle department.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and research claims to identify issues and ensure appropriate resolution
• Resolve various billing edits and denials within established timelines
• Identify trends and issues and communicate recommendations for resolution to the supervisor/manager
• Follow up (phone, email, payer websites, and regular mail) with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment
• Write appeal letters using established insurance guidelines to resolve collection barriers
• Respond to written and email correspondence within established timelines
• Report departmental issues and concerns to supervisor
• Utilize systems, documents, and reports to identify and correct errors accurately and within established timeframes
• Contact insurance companies, third-party payers, banks, attorneys, or individuals (by phone, email, payer websites, and regular mail) for resolution of accounts accurately and within established timeframes

Requires accurate analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities with an advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as effective verbal and written communication and human relation skills.

Requirements

• Two years of medical billing experience required
