We're partnering with a well-established outpatient healthcare clinic to find a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join their revenue cycle team. What You'll Do
- Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle:
- Submit insurance claims accurately and on time
- Review, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure proper documentation and coding
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies
- Generate billing, aging, and revenue reports as needed
- Support audits, desk reviews, and compliance reporting related to billing
- Coding & Documentation Support:
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Ensure appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier usage
- Identify billing trends, errors, or process gaps and recommend improvements
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation
- Systems & Workflow:
- Utilize practice management and billing software effectively
- Maintain patient billing records with strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Support workflow improvements to increase billing efficiency and accuracy
- Communicate with insurance carriers, clearinghouses, and internal teams as needed
- General:
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and required compliance education
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations
Requirements
- 2 years of medical billing experience in a clinic or healthcare setting (required)
- Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and insurance billing procedures
- Hands-on experience with a practice management or medical billing system (required)
- Athena EHR experience (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience in community health, safety-net, or nonprofit healthcare settings is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check upon offer of employment
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $27.00 – $31.00 /hr
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Job Type: Full-Time
