Medical Assistant - Ward Village, Family Medicine

About the role

As a Medical Assistant at Straub Benioff Medical Center's Ward Clinic & Urgent Care, you will join a dedicated team providing comprehensive health services to patients and their families. The clinic offers urgent care services for adults, adolescents, children, and infants, with a focus on managing overall health care needs through team-based primary care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care activities, including but not limited to:
• Assisting with patient examinations and procedures
• Collecting and processing specimens for laboratory tests
• Administering medications as prescribed
• Recording patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
• Communicating effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals
• Ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction during visits

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE from AAMA, RMA from AMT, NCMA from NCCT, RMA from ARMA, NRCMA from NAHP, CMAC from AMCA, CCMA from NHA
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by the end of the orientation period

• Strong communication and patient care skills

Skills

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Experience with electronic medical records

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $27.79 - $29.25 USD per hour.

Schedule
