What You Will Do
- Provide hands-on personal care and medical assistant support based on client care needs
- Support elderly and disabled individuals with daily care activities
- Lead, guide, and support caregivers during assigned shifts
- Aid in task direction, coaching, and issue resolution for care staff
- Monitor client wellbeing, including physical, mental, and emotional status
- Report significant changes in client condition to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates as needed
- Promote patient safety by identifying concerns and escalating them appropriately
- Represent Elara Caring with professionalism, compassion, and courtesy
- Attend required trainings and participate in skill development opportunities
- Support implementation of policies, procedures, and process improvements
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information
- Perform additional duties or assignments as needed
What Is Required?
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Medical Assistant certification in the state of Michigan
- Previous experience providing care to elderly or disabled individuals preferred
- Leadership, team lead, or shift lead experience preferred
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and support care staff professionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Caregiver-centered approach to care
- Ability to problem-solve, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks
- Comfortable supporting schedules, task assignments, and daily care coordination
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and supervisors
- Knowledge of basic medical assistant and personal care support tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting, assisting with transfers, and handling equipment
- Lifting 50-100 lbs as needed
Work Setting
- This is a facility-based position at Arbor North in Jackson, MI
- This is not a traveling home-to-home assignment
- You will report to the Branch Manager
