Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
  • Perform hand washing, weigh patients, take vital signs, document chief complaints, and administer limited injections as directed.
  • Communicate with patients about lab results, physician orders, and medication instructions.
  • Manage patient registrations, schedules, insurance verifications, and manage no-show lists.
  • Prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, and assist with equipment cleaning.
  • Provide customer service, handle phone inquiries, and collect payments.
  • Support the revenue cycle process by maintaining patient records and participating in the billing process.
  • Coordinate specialty referrals and appointments, complete prior authorizations, and accompany providers on home visits.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain patient safety.
  • Attend departmental meetings and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • BLS certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Windows navigation and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to type and enter data efficiently and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) Certification or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Ability to work independently and learn new skills.
  • Effective communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail.

Pay and Schedule

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.25 to $25.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
