Medical Assistant - South Florida Baptist OB/GYN

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Collects and reviews patient histories and conducts routine laboratory procedures.
• Prepares specimens for laboratory transport and communicates test results to providers and patients.
• Provides patient education materials and maintains medical records.
• Maintains medical equipment and orders necessary clinical supplies.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Requirements

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• E/MT (Emergency Medical Technician), NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician), Paramedic, or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship is highly recommended and should be included on the application and resume.
• Location and dates of externship experience should be provided.
