About the role
The Medical Assistant – Sleep Lab supports both inpatient sleep study services and outpatient Sleep Disorders Center operations, helping ensure a seamless experience for patients undergoing diagnostic sleep testing.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and set up portable sleep monitoring equipment for patients throughout Main Campus, collaborating closely with nursing staff and care teams to provide basic education and support regarding the sleep study process.
- Return to the Sleep Disorders Center to assist with daily clinic operations, including patient intake, triage support, room preparation, appointment readiness, and distribution of patient materials.
- Serve as an important link between inpatient and outpatient sleep services, requiring strong communication, organization, and customer service skills to support efficient workflows and a positive patient experience.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
- Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period)
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
- Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
Qualifications
- Medical Assisting Certification preferred
- Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship preferred
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
- Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Pay
- Minimum hourly: $19.75
- Maximum hourly: $27.75
