Medical Assistant - School Based Clinics

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow through the clinic by following established workflows
• Provide clinical support including: escorting patients to exam rooms, recording vital signs and measurements, assisting with screenings and exams, administering treatments and medications as directed, counseling on safety, nutrition, and development
• Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies
• Perform laboratory services including phlebotomy and CLIA-waived tests
• Process referrals and track test results
• Serve as a communication liaison between provider and patient
• Provide administrative support including scheduling and inventory management
• Participate in team huddles and assist with training new Medical Assistants

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Experience with the pediatric population or in school based health

Qualifications

• Valid CMA in the state of KY
• Highest level of education: High School Diploma or GED

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
