Medical Assistant - Scarborough Primary Care

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants: $4,000 for 0-1 years of experience (full time) and $5,000 for 1+ years of experience (full time). Eligible candidates must be hired into a full or part-time MA position. Bonus amount is prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees and former members (until greater than 6 months separation from employment) are ineligible.

About the role

The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The MA functions under the license of the physician or advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following:
  • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or
  • Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or
  • 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
• License/Certifications:
  • Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • A NH Med Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for positions located in New Hampshire.
• Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
