Medical Assistant PRN

Introduction

The MDNow Urgent Care Clinic operates Monday-Sunday from 8am-8pm. The position requires flexibility to work these hours.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We seek a Clinical Medical Assistant with 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting. Experience with EHR systems, an accredited Medical Assisting degree, and AAMA certification are preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment. The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start is also required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Cover incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners

Requirements

• Must have the flexibility to work during MDNow clinic hours
• Must have 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful
• Must graduate from an accredited school of Medical Assisting or complete an approved program (BOTP)
• Must have certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) if desired
• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start is required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
