For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

About the role

This is a full-time, 36 hour per week position at MaineHealth Primary Care - Family Medicine - 181 Franklin Health Cmns - Farmington. The Medical Assistant’s primary responsibilities include rooming patients, completing medication refills, managing follow-ups from endoscopy procedures, inputting labs, and abstracting charts. The ideal candidate is thoughtful and compassionate about the care they deliver, adaptable to the day-to-day changes in healthcare, and works collaboratively in a team setting.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or
    • Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or
    • 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  • Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement).
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
  • A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
