Medical Assistant - Primary Care, Bothell (32 hrs)

About the role

As a Medical Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will work alongside nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and improve the health of our members and communities.

Responsibilities

• Collect selected data about the health status of patients and record vital signs.
• Determine the purpose of patient visits, concerns, and educational or physical needs.
• Record pertinent data in patient medical records and recognize urgent/emergent situations for timely referral.
• Participate in developing and implementing nursing care plans with the health care team.
• Communicate effectively and attentively with patients and team members.
• Coordinate and facilitate patient care, including verifying patient understanding of visit purposes.
• Provide instruction to patients and families on health care services, policies, and preventive care.
• Reinforce medical and therapeutic regimens to improve general health status.
• Document patient history, observations, and procedures accurately according to standards.
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and private environment for patients, adhering to safety and infection control policies.
• Demonstrate accountability for practice, continued growth, and self-evaluation.
• Participate in staff orientation, student education, and performance reviews.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent military experience with ability to obtain MA-I certification prior to start date.
• Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) or Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire; full certification within 12 months if hired as MA-I.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• Knowledge and skills listed on the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.

Schedule

• Part-time, 32 hours per week.
• Shift: Day, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Wednesday RDO).
• Working hours: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM.

Pay

The posted pay range is $27.71 - $41.24 per hour. Actual base pay will be determined based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
