Responsibilities

  • Provides ongoing services as a medical assistant to patients in need of medical services.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, takes medical histories, assists the physician during the examination, and explains medical procedures to patients.
  • Collaborates with behavioral health and other specialty care offices to coordinate appropriate client information.
  • Faxes and responds to client phone calls and coordinates responses based on consultations with medical staff.
  • Maintains office equipment and supplies, answers phones, schedules appointments, greets patients, and creates correspondence.
  • Assumes general clerical duties within the office.
  • Follows up on missed medical appointments and coordinates appropriate re-engagement with patients.
  • Seeks clinical supervision to ensure the provision of effective supportive services.
  • Updates patient files, schedules medical tests, and arranges for hospital admissions.
  • Completes client documentation, including progress notes, medical intake paperwork, and submits on the date of service.

Requirements

  • Full-time position, 40 hours/week.
  • Located near 48th St/McDowell.

  • Integrated care location offering primary care and mental health services on-site.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • NextGen experience is a plus.
  • Excellent compensation range: $17.87-$21.50+/hour, depending on years of MA experience.
  • Additional language differential pay available for Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, Farsi, Swahili, or ASL: $1/hour (approximately $2,080 annually).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Arizona Medical Assistant license.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Pay

  • $17.87-$21.50+/hour, depending on years of MA experience.
