MEDICAL ASSISTANT/PAIN MANAGEMENT - Contingent Position (M-F)

Toledo Clinic's Advanced Pain Management Department is seeking a Credentialed Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to work on a contingent basis.

Schedule

• As needed (Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM & Friday, 7:30 AM–2:00 PM)

About the role

Assist providers with patient treatment, prepare patients for providers, and perform various clerical duties. Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Responsibilities

• Consistently arrive at work on time and adhere to regular work schedule
• Assist providers with patient care (e.g., minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.)
• Perform various clerical duties (e.g., answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts)
• Escort patients to exam room
• Prepare exam rooms
• Prepare patients for providers (e.g., histories, blood pressure, vitals)
• Sterilize and prepare instruments
• Call in prescription refills at the request of the physician
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments
• Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays
• Administer injections
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Consistently arrive at work in appropriate/professional attire
• Complete all tasks within established time frame
• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Seek appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assist co-workers as needed
• Demonstrate adaptability to expanded roles
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
• Clearance on the Medicare Exclusion List

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school
• Clinical medical assisting experience (preferred)
