Medical Assistant Outpatient - PRN

Essential Job Functions

• Affords direct patient care procedures and related tasks.
• Collects patient histories and performs metabolic profiles.
• Obtains vital signs, height, and weight for clients on the inpatient unit.
• Rounds frequently on clients and reports client needs to LPN/RN.
• Performs UDS/HCG tests adhering to CLIA standards.
• Maintains accurate inventory of medicines and medical supplies.
• Safeguards self-administered client medication or performs medication administration.
• Schedules and monitors medication clinic appointments.
• Authorizes drug refills and telephones/faxes prescriptions to the pharmacy.
• Schedules outside medical appointments for clients.
• Acquires necessary medical information as requested by the medical provider.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Maintains compliance with all regulatory and licensure standards.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year working as a Medical Assistant in a licensed healthcare facility.

Physical Demands

• Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue.
