Responsibilities
- Taking patients to rooms
- Greeting patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Scheduling appointments
- Assisting with medical procedures
- Answering phones
- Performing phlebotomy
- Clerical & computer work
- Obtaining lab specimens
- Prior authorizations
- Adhering to safety and infection guidelines
- Billing and coding
- Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)
- Faxing
- Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations
- Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork
Requirements
- Graduate of a medical assistant program (or)
- One year as a Medical Assistant
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- No experience required

Training consists of a combination of classroom and clinical training.
The program schedule is Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30p.
The classroom training will be held at 1001 Breckenridge Ln, Louisville, KY 40207.
The clinical training will be completed at different locations throughout Louisville and Southern IN.
