Medical Assistant or LPN - Pain Medicine

About the role

Pain Management at Department 02301 AAH Germantown South is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will work as a Surgery Scheduler in a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Requirements

• LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
• MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Qualifications

• LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
• MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.85 - $36.15

Schedule

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday

• Monday & Tuesday: Remote
• Wednesday & Thursday: Germantown South Clinic
• Friday: Hartford Clinic

About this location

Pain Management is part of Aurora Health Center. Services include obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics and general surgery, diagnostic testing and imaging, and lab work.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease.
• Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

Physical Abilities Testing

May be required.
