Medical Assistant or LPN

About the role

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting providers with patient examination, procedures, and treatment
• Collecting patient histories and preparing patients for visits
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab
• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients
• Maintaining patient education materials
• Managing and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintaining medical equipment and ordering clinical supplies
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• PREFERRED: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training
• Experience Preferred: Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience
• Licensure / Certification Required: Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following: EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Additional Preference: Candidates who have completed a Medical Assistant externship are encouraged to include the location and dates of their externship on their application and resume
