Job Description Medical Assistant - OBGYN Location: Patchogue, & Smithtown, NY Hours/Days: 5 8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri between 7:30am-8pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) - OBGYN In This Role, You Will Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic testsRecord patients' vital signsPrepare patients for examinationsSterilize medical equipment and instrumentsAssist providers and other support staff in the data entry processAssist physicians during visits with examinations and all office proceduresPerform EKGs and point-of-care testingOther duties as assigned We Require A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
