Responsibilities

  • Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow and preparing exam rooms.
  • Accompany patients to exam rooms, document patient history, charting, collect specimens, relay instructions to patients, and assist patients as necessary.
  • Perform patient screening, including documenting patient history, performing medication reconciliation, and obtaining vitals.
  • Assist doctors with physical exams and office procedures as necessary.
  • Assist office coordinator with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Manage and update patient medical records, manage referrals, and prior authorizations.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical equipment and supplies, including ordering and restocking when necessary.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and book surgeries as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Required to float to other GFP offices/locations based on business need.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of recognized Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant diploma program preferred.
  • Experience working in a surgical office strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and must be able to multi-task.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is required.
