About the role
The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, making referrals, and contributing to quality outcomes for the practice's patient population.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth patient flow and provider workload management
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and restocking supplies
- Room patients efficiently and manage the provider’s caseload
- Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections as needed
- Document care using the EPIC EMR system
- Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient needs and established protocols
- Process referrals and medication refills as requested
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and colleagues
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized medical assisting program OR hold a High School Diploma/GED with one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the last three years
- Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within six months of employment
