Medical Assistant Noncertified- Stroobants Cardiology Center- Full-Time

About the role

The Medical Assistant (MA – non‑certified) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed medical practitioner to provide patient support services and office clerical duties. Medical Assistants coordinate patient care according to Centra’s Professional Practice model and collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high‑quality care focused on achieving desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider; measure vital signs and interview patients to obtain health histories.
• Provide health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers as directed by the provider.
• Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and caregivers and ensure understanding of the plan of care.
• Administer medications and immunizations (injectable, oral, topical, aerosol), provide wound care, and perform personal health interventions as deemed competent.
• Perform patient testing, including specimen collection, CLIA‑waived testing, blood collection, and electrocardiogram.
• Serve as a communication liaison for the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient scheduling and follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and charts using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested; job specifications may be modified or updated at any time.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months – 1 year medical experience (or eligibility for a Registered Apprenticeship program pending CMG leadership approval).
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant.

Pay

Salary Range: $18.23 – $25.51 per hour.
