Medical Assistant, Neurology

About the Role

Wentworth Health Partners Coastal Neurology Services has been providing adults and children with comprehensive and trusted care since 1983. Our board-certified physicians specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and management of an array of neurological disorders, including headaches, epilepsy, autism, ADHD, neuromuscular disease, neuropathy, sleep disorders, small-fiber polyneuropathy, stroke and more.

We are seeking a 40-hour Medical Assistant to join our Neurology team Monday through Friday, with a start time between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants have the opportunity to work autonomously at the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.

We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages or other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document patient information.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Support healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers.
• Engage in direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Direct Medical Assistant experience or related medical field experience preferred; 0–1 year of experience acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Experience may not be accepted in lieu of the required education.

Work Location

Neurology practices are located at 10 Members Way, Dover, NH, and 73 Corporate Drive, Portsmouth, NH. This position is onsite at 73 Corporate Drive.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
• Start time between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM.
• Day shift.

Pay

Pay range: $19.80 - $24.94 per hour (Grade 3).

At Mass General Brigham, base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors. The provided range is based on minimum job qualifications and does not encompass all elements of total compensation.
