Medical Assistant, Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, 40 Hour, Days

About the role

This position is open to current UMass Memorial Health caregivers. It involves providing clinical care and clerical support in a healthcare setting under the direction of licensed clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and takes vital signs.
• Collects and documents patient health status and monitors patient progress.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and POC tests as needed.
• Administers non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Aids in physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Reviews and communicates laboratory results.
• Prepares and cleans patient equipment.
• Maintains office supplies and organizes patient records.
• Processes prescriptions and collects co-payments.
• Supports insurance verification and documentation.
• Performs clerical duties as outlined by office protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification.
• Medical Assistant credential from the Massachusetts Department of Health.

Benefits

Schedule
