About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) assists in the examination and treatment of patients, delivering high-quality care and services while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians/providers in patient examinations and treatments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA laws.
- Adhere to CLIA and OSHA guidelines, including sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Perform medical assistant duties such as EKG and basic drug administration.
- Utilize patient management software and basic Microsoft Office products (EPIC preferred).
- Provide patient instruction using proper communication methods.
- Multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Implement safety practices to prevent workplace hazards and exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program.
- Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (or obtained within 90 days of employment).
- Current CPR certification (or obtained within 90 days of employment).
- One year of medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred.
- Basic computer literacy and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone and customer service.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.

- Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (may vary based on business need).
