Primary Location: Wilmington Primary Care Department, CCHMC Wilmington. Full-time, 32 weekly hours (0.8 FTE), day shift.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care – Provide competent technical and clinical services, flexing to daily needs based on CCHMC policy, best-practice guidelines, and department needs. Assist care providers with procedures and physical exams. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Deliver care consistent with family-centered care and medical-home models. Offer flexible, culturally competent, and responsive care. Treat families as full partners in decision-making, providing information, services, and support in a collaborative and respectful manner.
- Customer Service – Act as a customer advocate to better meet patient and family needs. Complete assignments and interact with customers courteously, attentively, and conscientiously. Respond quickly to parent requests and concerns. Provide appropriate education and information to patients and families.
- Collaboration – Work cooperatively with others, follow complex directions, resolve problems, and achieve goals. Develop positive working relationships, acknowledge colleagues’ skills and contributions, and share knowledge to support team members. Contribute to and promote a positive, professional work environment.
- Data Management – Manage records per department policy. Assist with data collection for various forms. Obtain consent and release-of-information forms when indicated. Maintain patient files, records, and other information. Adhere to established documentation practices with accurate, detailed data entry and document management.
- Laboratory Work and Testing – May manage specimens per protocols. Maintain knowledge of routine testing processes and retrieve test results. Communicate normal lab results as appropriately delegated. Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician, provided required training, education, and demonstrated clinical competency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assisting program AND either:
- No directly related experience, OR
- Completion of a formal medical-services training program of the U.S. armed forces, OR
- One year of work experience in a related job discipline.
Pay
Expected starting pay range: $18.75 – $22.25 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.
