About the role

This position oversees and directly supervises Medical Assistants working with Physicians. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient, professional patient service, managing workflow processes, training staff, and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, implement, and maintain workflow processes to improve patient experience.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Leadership on clinic workflow issues and staffing opportunities.
  • Ensure staff consistently interact with patients, clients, and staff professionally and promote teamwork.
  • Resolve patient care and departmental issues using tact and diplomacy.
  • Maintain policies and procedures for areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance and consistent application.
  • Improve best practices to meet MIPS and OCF performance data.
  • Effectively supervise all medical assistant staff members.
  • Monitor day-to-day staffing requirements for medical assistants and adjust as needed.
  • Address fluctuating workloads based on patient flow and physician schedules.
  • Aid in the hiring process for potential candidates.
  • Support and assist Clinic Leadership in providing quality service to physicians, patients, and support staff.
  • Ensure staff comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Create an accurate monthly calendar of staff schedules, effectively coordinating and approving time-off requests.
  • Monitor and eliminate overtime usage and missed meal penalties.
  • Maintain staff performance standards and competencies, providing ongoing leadership, support, and guidance.
  • Train and orient new staff members.
  • Deliver performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Ensure staff demonstrate good use of time and resources.
  • Implement and exercise policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees operate within guidelines.
  • Make decisions that have a direct impact on work unit operations and customer service.
  • Frequently interact with subordinates, customers, and peer groups at various management levels, involving information exchange and basic problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience, required.
  • Supervisory experience managing a high volume of direct reports, highly preferred.
  • Medical Office experience, required.
  • Medical Assistant and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certified, highly preferred.
