Position Summary

The Ambulatory Medical Assistant (MA) supports clinical operations by facilitating patient flow, delivering care, and maintaining clinic efficiency.

Essential Duties

  • Patient Intake and Documentation: Room patients, gather health information, and document in EHR.
  • Assist Providers: Collaborate during exams and procedures, ensure supplies are ready.
  • Specimen Collection: Prepare and label lab specimens, adhere to protocols.
  • Education: Provide patients with treatment instructions and coordinate care.
  • In-Basket Messaging: Manage and respond to clinic communications.
  • Equipment and Room Maintenance: Keep exam rooms clean and restock supplies.
  • Administrative Support: Handle referrals, manage records, and perform other clerical duties.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program or EMT program.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; relevant clinical or patient-facing experience preferred.
  • Training/Certification: CPR/BLS certification required.
