Position Description
Affords assistance in patient examination and treatment by managing patient information, documenting medical records, supporting in-office procedures and testing, dispensing medications, and educating patients and caregivers.
Duties
- Greet and courteously escort patients and guests to examination rooms.
- Determine and document reasons for visits; utilize critical thinking skills to assess if patient information needs further attention.
- Follow protocols to screen patients and obtain necessary information to complete EMR templates.
- Accurately document vital signs and BMI in patient EMR files.
Perform diagnostic tests and assist with other office procedures/surgeries as directed.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, plus accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship, MA Internship, EMT program, Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Credentials/Licensure: MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligibility for certification, EMT license, or Paramedic certification. Valid CPR certification.
- MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited agency.
- Experience: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

- Ability to work in an onsite mode.
- Competency in obtaining accurate patient vital statistics and health history.
- Proficiency in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system.

- Knowledge of compliance aspects of clinical care and patient privacy.
- Ability to handle patient and organizational information confidentially.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
