What You’ll Do

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm No weekends or holidays West Allis as primary site with occasional travel to Six Points, 84 South, and Summit.
  • As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.
  • As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:
    • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
    • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
    • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
    • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
    • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
    • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
    • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Pay Structure

  • For Medical Assistants the pay starts between $22-23/hr. For LPN the pay starts between $24.50-25.50/hr. Pay is determined by experience and qualifications of the position. Leaders may be willing to offer more with prior direct experience in the role.

Aurora Pulmonology 📍 2424 S. 90th St., Suite 300, West Allis, WI 53227 A specialty clinic affiliated with Aurora West Allis Medical Center that diagnoses and treats lung and breathing conditions, including asthma, COPD, bronchitis, pneumonia, sleep apnea, and other respiratory disorders. The clinic offers pulmonary specialists and advanced practice providers for ongoing respiratory care.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Must be able to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Must be able to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
  • Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
