Medical Assistant (MA)/LPN - Geriatrics Clinic

About the role

The Department 01150 AMG Edgerton - Geriatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant/LPN to join our dynamic team. This role is full-time with benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Requirements

• MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
• LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
• Diploma or GED/HSE equivalent.

Qualifications

• MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
• LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.

Skills

Pay

• For Medical Assistants the pay starts between $22-23/hr.
• For LPN the pay starts between $24.50-25.50/hr.
• Pay is determined by experience and qualifications of the position.
• Leaders may be willing to offer more with prior direct experience in the role.

Schedule

Hours variable between 7:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

About This Location

Center for Senior Health & Longevity – Greenfield, WI Located at 6901 W. Edgerton Ave. in Greenfield, the Center for Senior Health & Longevity specializes in comprehensive care for older adults. The clinic focuses on healthy aging, chronic disease management, medication oversight, preventive care, and coordination of complex healthcare needs. Patients benefit from a team-based approach and convenient access to on-site specialty care, lab services, imaging, and pharmacy services within Aurora Health Center.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
