Responsibilities
- Aid patients in moving between exam rooms and prepare them for exams.
- Assist physicians in examinations, taking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient information according to established procedures, including completing referral forms, lab slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as blood draws and collecting laboratory specimens, and conduct basic diagnostic tests.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, well-stocked, and equipped with proper supplies, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Have a working knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and independent work style, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and patient care.
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer proficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
