The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team at The Hand Clinic in New Britain, CT.

Shift Detail

Full time, 8a-4:30p, no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clinically and administratively
• Prepares patients for examination
• Takes vitals
• Reviews medications and medical history
• Documents appropriately in EMR system
• Performs a variety of clerical and support functions including patient scheduling, referral management, prior authorizations and maintaining department inventory

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below
• Experience in lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date
• Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English
• Bilingual in Spanish is required
• Experienced in an Urgent Care, ED, or Orthopedics setting
