Medical Assistant / LPN - Internal Medicine Derryfield - Full Time
About the role
Provides medical care to the Manchester community for over 25 years. Derryfield Medical Group, a department of Elliot Hospital, partners with the Elliot Physician Network and works closely with the Elliot Hospital in all aspects of patient care. Providers care for older teenagers and adults, offering personal, high-quality healthcare with respect and privacy. Friendly, knowledgeable office staff provide individual attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs visit chart preparation activities based on daily scheduled appointments.
- Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to documented criteria.
- Obtains and documents age and/or condition-specific measurements.
- Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory, and ECG tests.
- Performs and documents specific screenings such as depression and asthma.
- Obtains, documents, and processes specimens using appropriate collection processes and equipment.
- Performs and documents point-of-care testing accurately.
- Administers medications and immunizations, including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal, and topical routes.
- Processes medication prescription refills per guidelines using telephonic, electronic, or print methods.
- Handles prior authorization processes for medications and/or procedures and documents appropriately.
- Manages clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure current stock, appropriate storage, labeling, and par levels.
Requirements
- Education: HS Diploma or GED required and one of the following:
- - Graduate from an accredited MA Program.
- - Graduate from an MA Training Program with externship.
- - 1 year of relevant healthcare experience with formal training (LNA, EMT, Combat Medic).
- - 1 year prior experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare experience (can include externship), 1 - 2 years in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Certification/License: Must possess BLS authorization upon 90 days of employment and maintain during employment. CMA, RMA, or CCMA preferred.
Qualifications

- - At least 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant.
- - Experience: 1 year of relevant healthcare experience (can include externship), 1 - 2 years in a clinical ambulatory care setting preferred.
- Certification/License: CMA, RMA, or CCMA required. Must possess BLS authorization upon 90 days of employment and maintain during employment.
