Our health system encompasses two hospital locations in Robbinsdale and Maple Grove, as well as a network of 23 clinics, including 13 primary clinics, 6 specialty clinics, 4 urgent care/urgency centers, and emergency care offerings covering five counties.
- Robbinsdale Hospital, established in 1954, is a 385-bed facility recognized as the top Level 1 Trauma center for 25 years and a Level II pediatric trauma center.
- Maple Grove Hospital, established in 2009, is a 134-bed facility recognized as a top hospital in the state for Women and Children Care, with a Level III NICU and the largest Family Birth Center in the state (5,000 deliveries per year and over 60,000 babies delivered).

About This Position
The Medical Assistant will manage patient flow throughout the clinic and assist providers in the management and treatment of their patients. Patients come from a variety of backgrounds and age groups, requiring individualized care, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics. The focus of the Medical Assistant is on collaborative, supportive, and delegated tasks as described in the Blaze Health Medical Assistant scope of practice.
Delegable tasks and competencies are specific to the role of the Supervising Nurse and Supervising Provider and are described by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. The Medical Assistant receives direction and collaborates with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to meet the defined goals of the customer, shift, department, and organization. Communication with the healthcare team regarding progress, concerns, questions, or problems is an essential element of the role.
A unit-based skills list outlines specific expectations, including technical procedures with competency assessment/validation. Skill and competency validations will occur upon hire and on a schedule determined by Blaze Health based on the Blaze Health Mandatory Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification policy.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent (i.e., GED) required.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by a recognized accrediting organization (e.g., Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) with on-the-job experience and training, OR
- Graduate of a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program accredited by a national health services organization (e.g., American Medical Technologists) with on-the-job experience and training and passing the RMA certification exam, OR
- Six (6) months of previous Medical Assistant experience within the North Memorial Health system.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Passed X-Ray Operator’s examination or willing to take the exam according to individual clinic needs.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Registered Medical Assistant certification required if an RMA program was attended.
Skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of and skill in using computer software applications.

Pay
Salary Range: B11 ($19.76 - $29.64), based on experience.
Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for up to $3,000. Bonus is prorated based on FTE.
Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
Schedule
- Hours per two-week pay period: 80.
- Shift: Days, 8 hours.
- Weekend Requirement: None.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, anytime between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
- Call Requirement: None.
- Remote or On-site: On-site.
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
