About the Role
Join Community Health Network, an organization created by our neighbors, for our neighbors. As a Medical Assistant, you will assist the provider in an ambulatory health care site with patient visits, procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the practice population. You will also participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
- Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
- Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
- Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
- Process referrals and medication refills.
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
Requirements
- Graduate or certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
- Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
