About the role
The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with patient visits, procedures, laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes. They will also participate in Network quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use
- Manage patient flow
- Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections
- Document care using EPIC EMR system
- Perform Point of Care Testing
- Process referrals and medication refills
- Build positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
Requirements
- Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
- Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
