About the role

The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with patient visits, procedures, laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes. They will also participate in Network quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use
  • Manage patient flow
  • Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections
  • Document care using EPIC EMR system
  • Perform Point of Care Testing
  • Process referrals and medication refills
  • Build positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Requirements

  • Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire

Qualifications

  • Collaborate with others in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive attitude toward problem-solving

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical assisting principles and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
