About the role

Responsibilities
- Deliver Centralized Curriculum: Teach the standardized distance education curriculum according to an assigned schedule.
- Engage Students: Facilitate discussion forums and interactive course posts to promote student interaction and engagement.
- Host Weekly Office Hours: Monitor student progress and provide timely academic feedback.
- Create Learning Support Tools: Tailor learning support tools to students' demonstrated needs.
- Maintain Professionalism: Adhere to policies, maintain an up-to-date faculty file, and communicate effectively with program leadership and students.
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Handle problems and use critical thinking to solve, communicate facts, policies, and practices related to job area, and communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Academic preparation in the specific courses being taught.
- 15 semester credit hours in the subject field for Healthcare Instructor.
- 3+ years' occupational experience.
- Industry certification/licensure if consistent with employment in the healthcare field of instruction (certifications/licenses must remain active and be maintained as required by State and/or accrediting commissions).
Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, healthcare management, communication, nursing, or general studies.
- Experience applying adult learning principles and practices to blended learning.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to inspire students to meet career goals by tying course curriculum to potential career outcomes.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, and synchronous instructional tools.
Skills & Abilities
- Compliance: Knowledge of, and careful following of all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations.
- Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Pay
Anticipated Starting Salary Is Based On Experience And Qualifications. Compensation Range $53,600—$57,000 USD
Schedule
This position is either a full-time or adjunct onsite position at UMA's ground campus located at 1255 Cleveland Street Clearwater, FL 33755. May include a flexible remote schedule for online/virtual instructional opportunity. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
