About the role
This role offers the opportunity to build both clinical and administrative skills while working alongside supportive healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding and precepting new team members and externs as assigned
- Support teammates with patient care workload and daily clinic tasks
- Complete prior authorizations, paperwork, and RightFax requests
- Monitor and respond to pooled inboxes and patient messages
- Provide lunch coverage as scheduled
- Report clinic observations, behavioral concerns, or policy issues to management
- Maintain point-of-care testing logs and equipment when an MA III is not present
- Participate in outreach activities as directed by leadership
- Perform additional duties to support clinic operations and patient care
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant (MA) Certification Required
- AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required
- Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required
- TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred
- Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures
- Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers
- Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required
- Current certification in medical assisting required from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), and/or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Full-Time (40 hours per week)
