Medical Assistant II- Float

About the role

The full-time Medical Assistant II (MA II) will assist healthcare professionals at three Buncombe County health centers: Hominy Valley Health Center and Minnie Jones Health Center. The position offers two schedules: 4 days a week for 10 hours a day or 5 days a week for 8 hours a day, all within the clinic's daytime hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare professionals with patient care
• Perform routine medical procedures such as drawing blood
• Document patient care in an electronic health record
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions

Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant, required
• One year experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting, preferable
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Current Basic Life Support Certificate, required
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in a team
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
