Medical Assistant I

About the Role

The Medical Assistant I role at Catalyst Physician Group will work collaboratively with the care team to ensure efficient and compassionate care delivery. This is an entry-level role focused on developing foundational clinical and administrative skills. This role supports patient care under supervision by performing basic tasks.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, adhere to rooming guidelines, vitals, accurately documents in the EMR, basic tests/procedures, medications and vaccines
• Document patient information in the EMR accurately
• Prepare exam rooms with the required equipment and supplies
• Assist providers with basic examinations and procedures
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and report low stock levels
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols
• Answer and route phone calls appropriately
• Support appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and chart management
• Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing and scanning

Requirements

• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program
• Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers with hands-on component preferred or within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Primary Care office setting
• Athena EMR experience
