Medical Assistant - Glastonbury Primary Care

You will provide clinical support for the Glastonbury Primary Care Practice, stepping in to assist where coverage is needed most. Adapts quickly to different workflows and collaborates with a wide range of care teams to ensure smooth, high-quality patient experiences. Responsibilities

• Room patients
• Take vital signs
• Administer medications
• Assist with procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Obtain pertinent history, enter into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and take/document patient vital signs
• Process and file all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients’ chart after they have been reviewed by the physician
• Coordinate patient flow in the office
• Collaborate with receptionist to ensure patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance (preferred)
• National Certification as a Medical Assistant (a plus)
